HOW IT WORKS
We’ll be coming to you live in October… and then some!!
After the writing phase concludes a live staging of original songs will be presented in Durban with a small cast, opening 16 October. Two composers showing promise for developing material further will receive a writing grant to create longer format works that will be professionally staged, and will travel to the Mandela Bay Theatre Complex in March 2022. This will be followed by a short Durban season.

Dani Petersen
An indefatigable proponent of Musical Theatre, Dani is a self-taught Creator/Writer/Composer of Musicals, a passion sparked by “Annie” at the Market Theatre in 1978. “Coming from the Cape Flats, this momentary access to Musical Theatre was life-changing…My Heart Moved!” she says. Her desire to recreate this experience led to “Eve’s Mark” (2015) followed by a Showcase of “Bakgat n Dingetjie”; her first multi-lingual work at the Cape Town Fringe Festival (2017). Dani launched Musicals Move Mountains in 2020 to #MoveHearts through Musicals.
